Break Week

We had a relaxing school break week last week.  The weather mostly cooperated, so for the first part of the week we were able to bike, play baseball, get ice cream, and enjoy the free time to get caught up around home.  The April break is always a roll of the dice, because it can be a long week if it rains every day and we don't have anything planned!  Luckily the dice rolled in our favor this year.

We ended the break week with a long weekend in NH for a double dance competition weekend for Evie plus a little getaway for the family.  We did some outlet shopping, visited the Portsmouth Drum Store and spent some time in downtown Portsmouth, NH in between dance competitions, so there was a little something for everyone!

Astronaut ice cream and Orange Julius - a throwback to our childhood!

A trip to the drum store, and they got to visit the secret warehouse! FUN!

Who is the bigger kid?!

Portsmouth is such a cute town!

I love a good cannoli

A little store named after our girl

Ironically, a little shop named after our boy just a couple doors down (different spelling)

The dance competitions went pretty well, but the way that they were scheduled led to a lot of waiting around, which was hard for all of us.  Evie wasn't sure when she'd be dancing, so it was a struggle to stay warmed up and prepared for such a long time, and Noah watched MUCH more Irish Dance than he had bargained for!  Evie's goal for the weekend was to get on the podium, and on Sunday she made it there in 5th place!  Now that she is in the top level of competition, she has to work extra hard for these results.  We are so proud of her dedication and efforts!

We drove home through snow, rain, and wind, but finally... FINALLY...we have weather in the 70's with sun!  Welcome, Spring!

New shoes from the weekend - dance shoes and basketball shoes!
