The remnants of illness hung around last week, and Noah ended up with an ear infection after not feeling well at the beginning of the week. Matt also had a rough week of recovering from his flu-like illness, and he has needed lots of naps while he gets back to his full energy levels.

| More get-well food! I was pretty proud of this homemade turkey pie I made! |
Thankfully, both kids were healthy enough for their big concert on Thursday - Fine Arts Night at the high school. This district-wide arts event includes grades K-12, and this year, Evie and Noah both played in the band together. Evie also had some artwork displayed and played in the orchestra. Evie's orchestra teacher, Mr. Ali, shared some really meaningful remarks about how this celebration has been going on for 40 years, and he personally was a part of it when he was a student! Matt and I are also Fine Arts Alumni from our high school years, so it's really encouraging to see the support for music and arts carrying on to the next generation.
Evie had her last middle school dance on Friday night, followed by a sleepover with some friends. It's hard to believe that she is winding down her time in middle school already!
Meanwhile, since Noah was an only child for the evening, we went to see the Minecraft movie, and Noah begged for the Minecraft happy meal to complete the evening. The rest of the weekend was pretty dreary, so we took care of some projects at home and continued to work on getting everyone healthy again!
