Lucky me!

It was one of those weeks that felt really busy, yet it was full of ordinary summer fun.  We were excited to catch up with Ally, Matt and Caroline during their visit to VT, and had fun listening to King Me with friends on Friday night.  Other than that, there was swimming, biking, bowling, playing with friends, a cooking class, a trip to the farmer's market, and the Burlington Moms Blog Family Fun Day event.  I was a very lucky winner of two raffle prizes and a $50 contribution to our kids' college fund at the event!  I should have bought a lottery ticket that day, because the numbers were definitely in my favor that day.

Unfortunately, our luck ran out when we went to our friends' wedding that evening, and realized we had gotten the time wrong.  We got in the car at 3:25 for what we thought was a 5:00 wedding, and the drive would take an hour.  As I went to enter the address in our GPS, I realized that the wedding was actually at 4:00!  There was no way we would make it to the ceremony in time, and we felt awful.  We managed to slip in discreetly during the cocktail hour, then we confessed our mix-up to the bride and groom, and proceeded to enjoy the rest of the lovely celebration.  Can I still blame this mix-up on mom brain?  Summer mom brain is especially bad.

One of Evie's highlights from last week was getting invited to help her former kindergarten teacher organize supplies and get her classroom set up for the coming school year.  That prompted her to come home and play school, with Noah as her student, of course!
