Christmas, New Years, and an arctic blast

Excited for Christmas!
Matt and I got to spend a morning in Evie's class helping with crafts before Christmas.  She was pretty stoked!

The last time it was nice enough to be outside playing was before Christmas!
I'm not sure how to sum up the past two weeks, but it has been festive, busy, exciting, tiring and SO COLD.  As always seems to be the case with kids, sickness hit us right before Christmas.  A double ear infection and fever for Noah, a cold for Evie and us, but luckily we were still able to enjoy the Christmas festivities.  The kids both were excitedly anticipating Christmas in their own ways.  Evie was a little elf, making her own gifts for everyone, wrapping them up, and she woke up about 5 times a night for the week leading up to Christmas.  Noah just kept seeing things and adding them to his list for Santa and asking when Santa was going to come.  When the big day came, they were very excited to wake up and see that Santa had visited our house.  Noah was thrilled with his new crane truck, and Evie wasted no time setting up her school set.  The magic, wonder, and excitement on their faces on Christmas morning was the best.  We shared some amazing meals with family, got spoiled with lots of wonderful gifts, and caught up with friends and family during the rest of the week.
Christmas Eve mass.  This accurately reflects Noah's mood!

Noah realized that Santa ate the cookies and left quite a mess!

This gift made me cry - Evie made this little pasta ornament at school, made the wrapping paper, and was so proud to give it to me on Christmas morning.  What a sweet heart this girl has!

One of the most thoughtful gifts of the year - Matt hand-made a Yahtzee board since we love to play so much!

The kids were troopers with all the gatherings we had throughout the week, and grumpy moods won out some days.  We took one day to just go to the movies (Noah's first time to the big screen!) since it was too cold to do anything else.  By the time we got to New Year's Eve, we were all happy to stay home and have a family game night, as the wind chill plunged to -25.  It is time to get back to routine!
Grumpy Noah almost didn't make it to this party!
Movie date.  Noah made it through the whole movie!

We barely made it to midnight. Happy New Year!
