May has burst into our schedule and it's already feeling like a lot! Baseball, birthdays, outdoor projects, parties, and more...and we aren't even a week into this wildly busy month! Evie's Spring Fling performance for Irish Dance is this coming weekend (6pm at Colchester High School), so she has been working hard to get ready for that. We can't wait to see their performance of Mary Poppins, and it also happens to fall on Evie's birthday this year!
I'll begin with baseball, because Noah had his first Little League Majors game last night, and they were happy to come away with a win! It's looking like they're going to have a great team, and Noah is really improving, too. It was fun to watch, and Evie even came along with a sign to cheer Noah on at his first game.
Keeping Noah busy when he isn't playing baseball, he is the proud owner of a new (used) mountain bike! He needed an upgrade for this year, and Matt found a great deal on a used bike for him that offers a lot of nice upgrades. He's been cruising around the neighborhood, but he can't wait to take it for a spin on the trails! Shout-out to our favorite family bike mechanic, Elliot, for his help evaluating the new ride before making a purchase.
On to the parties and celebrations...there has been a lot to celebrate! Our neighbors welcomed a new baby into the family, so we have had some bonus time to spend with their two older kids, Abby and Jack. It is so cute when Evie and Noah play with them, and the younger kids adore the big kids.
We also celebrated our friend Bernadette, who has been studying at St. Mike's and is a member of our music group there. She has finished her studies and will be returning to Mali, so we gathered to wish her well on her next journey. Right after Bernadette's party, we dropped Noah off at a birthday party, then headed off to Evie's party with a couple friends. She opted to do dinner downtown, attend a Paint and Sip, and indulge in Insomnia Cookies for dessert. It was very entertaining to have four teenage girls in the car, laughing and singing and chatting about everything. What a fun night we all had!
In the midst of all the other busy things, we also decided to repair our lawn with some sod. It was a pretty time-consuming process to get the soil prepped and ready, but we had to squeeze it in since the sod was coming Monday. Laying the sod down was much easier than the prep, and we are excited to have some beautiful new grass instead of bare spots!
