We had a busy Memorial Day weekend, which started with celebrating Noah's 2nd birthday on Friday. Life is an adventure with Noah - lots of challenging days, but so many smiles and laughs, too. He truly completes our family.
Here are some 2-year-old milestones and favorites for our little guy:
- Instrument: drums
- Foods: yogurt, chicken tenders, PB&J, baby food pouches
- Snacks: goldfish and veggie straws, bars
- Fruits: watermelon, banana
- Veggie: summer squash
- Color: green
- Animal: cow
- Toys: trucks (especially the trash truck), and the play grill (he loves making burgers)
- Outdoor activities: biking/scootering, pool time, sand table, and bubbles
- Characters: Elmo and Cookie Monster
- Bedtime song: You Are My Sunshine, Twinkle Twinkle
- Special skill: identifying colors - he can reliably pick out red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, brown, white, etc.
- Sleep: usually 8:30pm-9am, and an afternoon nap from 2-5pm
- Teeth: 16. We are still waiting for the 2-yr molars to appear.
- Still nursing 2-3 times a day!
- Height: 36.5 inches (96%)
- Weight: 28 lbs. 4 oz. (53%)
He began his birthday by watching the trash truck from his bedroom window (his favorite Friday activity!).
Next, we went to Evie's school to cheer her on in the trike-a-thon, but Noah got bored and started his screaming act. UGH. But, Evie did great on her scooter!
We got to enjoy some birthday bike riding and time at the pool before his nap, and then a family party! It was hot and humid, but thankfully we had ice cream cake to keep us cool for dessert. Noah was especially enthusiastic about opening his gifts and eating cake!

The rest of the weekend was full of fun, but we were all moving a little slow, thanks to the HOT and very humid weather. We went to the Memorial Day Parade in Essex, swam with friends. cheered Matt on for his first-ever team relay in the VT City Marathon, and spent some great time visiting with Ally, Matt, Caroline that the rest of the Barford family. On this Memorial Day weekend, we are mindful and thankful for the sacrifice that so many service men, women, and families have made for our freedom to enjoy all these wonderful times with our family and friends.
