Spring activities are in full swing! Noah finished his last week of overlapping sports (thank goodness!), and it was a struggle to get through the end of basketball season once Little League started. Noah's Little League team had its first scrimmage of the season on Saturday, and he played catcher, outfield, and he did some pitching. He didn't like the pressure of being pitcher last year, but this year he is stronger and more accurate, and he had some success. He's got good genetics with Grandpa Zeke, Uncle DJ and Aunt Pea all playing the position of pitcher very successfully in the past! Matt is an assistant coach, and we are all looking forward to the baseball season, because it really feels like spring once we are sitting on the sidelines of a baseball game!
Evie also had a big spring event for Irish Dance last week! The McFadden Academy performed an Irish Dance rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Evie played the part of Violet Beauregarde. We had fun putting together her costume, figuring out how she could inflate part-way through the show. Credit to Evie for dancing with a giant inflatable costume underneath her dress. The show was amazing, and it was a lot of fun to see the youngest dancers right up through the champ level dancers in the school, all in one show. Evie had so many friends and family come out to support her, which meant so much!
Frankie has been enjoying the spring weather with lots of outdoor time! She loves her play dates with Ellie to play ball, followed by a dip in her doggie pool and a nap when we get home.
We even had a little free time at home at a couple points during the week. Noah got a great cookbook from the library, and we made a recipe for chocolate peanut butter no-bake bars together. We also got out the ping-pong table in the basement, and we've all been having fun playing a few matches in the evenings.
Last, but certainly not least, Matt and I celebrated 25 YEARS since we first started dating! May 4, 1999 was the day we officially decided to take the leap to become "more than friends" and here we are, wondering how time has possibly gone by so fast. We count our blessings every day for this beautiful life together.
