Sigh. Emotions are high during these final few days of summer. We attended the ice cream social at each of the kids' schools yesterday, which made it seem official that summer is coming to a close. We were able to visit Noah's classroom and meet his teacher, and then we met the three teachers on Evie's team at her school, as well. All of the teachers seem great, and one special connection is that Evie has a teacher that Matt had when he attended EMS 30 years ago. WOW!

Last week, we finished up a few items on the summer checklist. The kids and I had a lovely hike at Mills Riverside Park with Frankie. It's so much fun to hike down the river on a warm, sunny day, and we finally had one! We finished with a maple creemee from Palmer's, of course. We also did some back-to-school shopping and splurged on lunch at Al's. We've had several play dates and gatherings with friends to help reconnect before the school year begins, and seeing many of our friends (kids and parents!) has lifted our spirits and reminded us about all the good that comes with returning to school. We are thinking of all the families making the transition back to school this week and hoping it goes smoothly!
