There are a lot of things reminding us that summer is coming to an end - all the emails from the schools, forms to fill out, extracurricular schedules to add to the calendar, fall menu plans, back-to-school sales at every store, and the dreaded earlier sunsets in the evening. It's coming, whether we are ready or not! We spent last week catching up with some friends, celebrating Christmas in
July August, and attending our only outdoor concert of the summer (the mud was horrifying, but the music was great).
Another piece of excitement from last week is that we got a new dining room set and some new outdoor furniture. We always try to do something like this instead of anniversary gifts, and this year it was a double gift year!
We decided to squeeze in one more long weekend at camp, in attempt to hang on to summer a bit longer. It's always good to be there, but fall was certainly in the air up in the northeast kingdom! Temps were in the low 60's and there was a stiff breeze, making it feel even cooler on some days. Luckily there was a little sunshine sprinkled in, too! The kids were brave enough to swim, and we did some biking, including a day trip to Kingdom Trails for the boys. Evie had a sleepover with her camp bestie, Ella, and we did a bonfire and breakfast at the Busy Bee diner in Glover with the girls. A cool new discovery during this camp trip was a sunflower farm along Route 16, where we visited and took some beautiful pics.
