Winding Down

The summer days are winding down, and we have just over a week until school starts.  Waaaaaaaah!  I'm worse than the kids with this transition.  Last week, we stayed busy with Chalky Paint Camp and a week of swim lessons for both kids.  They made some cool projects at camp, and we were really impressed with the progress they made with their swimming strokes in just a week.  We did lots of swimming at our pool too, so they had plenty of opportunities to reinforce their new technique!

Twinning!

Another fun activity was our first family mountain bike ride!  Even Frankie came along!  I went out on a limb and convinced the family that she would behave herself, and she was actually great.  She stuck right with us on the trail and loved running along in the front of the pack with Noah.  The only sketchy moment was when she was out of sight, and we called for her a couple times.  A dog came running down the trail, and Matt said, "Oh, that's not her.  That's another dog..." except it WAS Frankie, and she had rolled in so much mud that she was unrecognizable!  Luckily we were able to take her to swim in a pond further along the trail to get mostly cleaned off.  And the biking part of the outing was lots of fun.  Noah was really proud to be our tour guide on the trails at Saxon, and we stuck to the easy terrain so that everyone had a successful day on the trails!

It's like Where's Waldo...can you find Frankie?!

In Erin T's words: "Swamp Creature"

Thank goodness for the pond to clean her off

An early b-day gift for me from Matt and the kids - biking shoes!

A tired and happy pup!  She's a good trail dog!

We wrapped up the week with a King Me gig, and spending some time with Ally and Caroline before they headed back home after their summer in VT.  We love spending time with these dear friends, and even better to be able to hang out and enjoy some good tunes at the same time.

We sprinkled in a few of our favorite summer activities during the other days of the week - pickleball with friends, skateboarding, and of course, some ice cream!
Pickleball fun!  Lots of laughs with this awesome crew!

New skateboard pads - safety first!

Matt took the kids to Yogurt City...and they charge by WEIGHT.  Let's just say it was the cost of 10 creemees!

But it was worth it!

Frankie's special treat was an empty peanut butter jar.  Ha ha!

Garage projects

News flash: Noah ate zucchini!!  Granted, it was breaded and covered in melted cheese, but I'm gonna call it a summer vegetable win!
