Here we sit at the end of summer. School starts tomorrow, and there's a whole medley of feelings. We had the back-to-school ice cream socials yesterday, where we had the chance to visit with the kids' teachers, and we even went into Noah's classroom. It was a strange moment, because the last time we were able to do this, Evie was starting 3rd grade with the same teacher, in the same classroom! Noah seems excited, but a little nervous about adjusting to a new school and finding his classroom on the first day.

Next, we went to Evie's middle school ice cream social, where we got to meet her team of 3 teachers and find out who her homeroom teacher will be. We felt really good about all the teachers, and Evie is excited about the friends who are in her homeroom with her. It's hard to believe she is starting middle school, but she seems ready for this next adventure.

Last week didn't amount to much excitement, because Noah had a 24-hour bug on Monday/Tuesday. On Wednesday, I took the kids to get their Covid boosters, so they were feeling a little bit off for the next couple days. We got some projects done at home, like room cleaning and organizing, and enjoyed some low-key time at the pool.

Once the kids were feeling better, we got together with some friends, and Matt had a double-header weekend of King Me gigs. While I felt like we should be cramming in all the end-of-summer fun, it was clear that we all just needed some slow days at home before the busy back-to-school season begins. I always have a hard time during this season of change, and I'm feeling the weight of it this year especially as the kids each start at a new school.
