Summer Smiles

We settled into our first full week of summer with play dates with friends, biking, swimming, ice cream, reading and a variety of Bruder construction projects.  Matt and I have also started playing pickleball with our friends, so that has been a fun new activity for the summer months.  Now that they've been home for a bit, the kids are remembering how to entertain themselves when I have to get some stuff done around the house, and this week they are both doing a half-day camp to keep the boredom at bay.  Our Shadow Lake vacation is on the horizon, so I'm appreciating having a little time to get things ready while they are at their camps!

Perfect summer day

Ice cream BEFORE lunch?!

Yummy cold treats during our bike ride

We are excited to see the Mullens again for their summer in VT!

The girls are shoe twins!

These kids have grown a ton since last summer

Matt's flip-flop didn't survive the swim, unfortunately

The Daytel - the kids created this whole fort where you can come hang out, play games, read, and relax

First kale harvest of the season!

Keeping up with her summer reading.  Evie loved reading her first Nancy Drew book!

Every mom needs a giant bag to carry all the stuff for summer

Some of the more boring moments of the week...window washing!

We finally got around to sorting through all the papers, artwork, etc. that came home from school at the end of the year (I have to wait a couple weeks after school ends, otherwise it just makes me cry!).  The kids were so proud of their work!  We also have to admire Evie's nice, straight smile.  She has completed her first round of orthodontic treatment, and has graduated to just wearing her retainer at night.  Hooray!

We got the rest of our family photos back from BirdieLou, and here are a few more of our favorites.

As always, our fluffy girl got lots of love all week, too!
