It sounds crazy, but it's our idea of fun! Before the camp week began, we said we'd be okay as long as the weather cooperated and the dogs could be outside. Mother Nature didn't really hold up her end of the bargain, but we made the best of several cool, cloudy days at camp. Thankfully, the kids didn't mind swimming despite the cold weather, and we did lots of walks, fishing, kayaking, and card games to keep busy. We ate well and had lots of laughs together, and the couple of sunny days were savored!

We were joined by a few extra family/friends for the 4th of July celebration, complete with Grandma Karen's margaritas, Grandpa's famous BBQ chicken, festive outfits, and an amazing fireworks show at the beach.

Other highlights of the week include: Evie had a sleepover with our camp neighbor Ella one night, we visited Aunt Mari and Uncle Jerry's cabin to escape the chaos for fishing and dog swimming several times, Lotto Bingo was played, Colby and I biked to Daniel's Pond, and we squeezed in some tubing and waterskiing on the nicer days.

Last, but certainly not least, our fluffy baby Frankie celebrated her 1st Birthday at camp on July 7th! We love our girl, and we are so glad she joined our family. She had the best time at camp playing with the other dogs, playing ChuckIt in the yard (and cooling off in the brook as needed), swimming, and going for walks. She settled in really well considering this was her first visit to camp, and the biggest challenge was that she kept trying to sneak out the door so she could play ball.
