Last Week of School

We are in the final few days of the 2019-2020 school year, and it feels a little sad.  It has been a bonding experience to partner with the kids' teachers these past few months for distance learning, and the dedication of these teachers to continue teaching through the pandemic has been inspiring.  They have checked in, found ways to bring the class together (and have fun) via Zoom, and have consistently been there for the kids through this crazy time.  This school year is certainly one for the history books!

We have been aiming to get through school work quickly so that the kids can spend lots of time playing outside every day.  One of my favorite activities last week was the "Kindness Kids Club" where they decorated the sidewalk and an elderly neighbor's driveway with uplifting words and drawings.

Noah had his 6-year checkup last week, and he is growing well!  He is now 47 inches tall and weighs 49 pounds.  He loves to putter around outside, going from biking to "yard work" to projects with Daddy.

Evie has been biking a ton and she has also been having fun playing with some of the younger neighborhood kids who are drawn to her - she is so patient and sweet with them.  One side effect of all the outdoor play is that her feet have been real grubby, so we have been doing lots of foot baths!  Evie is also on the road to her first round of orthodontic treatment, and she had her first visit last week. Sighhhhhhhhh!

Our big weekend adventure was a family mountain biking outing.  I've never been on a mountain bike before, so it was a fun chance for me to try it out.  The kids LOVED it, and they were surprisingly good at navigating the trails and obstacles.  It was so tiring that we had to come home, order take-out and have movie night afterward!

Matt and Noah have been working on building a work bench for Noah, and they put the finishing touches on it over the weekend.  Noah is really proud of his work!
