Winding down

As we turned the calendar to June, I got that pit in my stomach that the end of the school year is near.  What has happened to me?  I remember as a kid counting down the days until summer vacation!  Now, I feel emotional at the end of the year saying goodbye to the teachers and classmates and our familiar weekly routines, and I know my day-to-day is about to get a lot busier with both kids home all day.  Luckily, the nice weather last week gave us a glimpse of all the fun that summer has in store - pool time, ice cream dates, playing at the park, bike riding, and time with friends.

A favorite passtime lately has been playing "restaurant" out back.  So cute!

Our neighbors gave us a free guitar - maybe we need a new instrument in the family band!

Noah traced Mommy...Oh dear, is this really my outline?!

Noah had his 4-year checkup, and he grew 3 inches and gained 5 pounds this year (ironically, that's the same amount that Evie grew this year!).  He passed all the tests with flying colors, and proudly told Dr. Hale that he likes to eat healthy food like watermelon and carrots and yogurt.  We got a chuckle out of that, knowing that Noah would happily eat chicken tenders, pizza, or mac and cheese for every meal!  Despite his dietary preferences, Noah is growing healthy and strong, and for that we are grateful.
