Transitioning to summer

Transition...it's always a tricky time.  Last week was a busy and exciting week, with an author's breakfast and fun day at Evie's school, a stomach bug for Noah (UGH!), and the last day of school for both kids on Thursday.  We started the first day of summer off with some special activities to celebrate - mini golf and a trip to the movies to see the new Incredibles movie.

Oh hey, you wore your hot pink shorts too?!

After a weekend of celebrating all the wonderful dads in our lives, the reality of the first Monday of summer/no routine hit us like a ton of bricks.  We were all tired after a busy few days and late bedtimes, and the kids were combustible when they were in the same room yesterday.  This transition was tough last year too, and I know we will settle into our summer routine, but it's going to take us a bit of time to get there.  Have any other parents successfully figured out how to ease this transition?  Send me your tips!
Hmm...maybe this is why there was so much arguing?
