Noah has seemed to reach several "big boy" milestones all in a matter of weeks. First was potty training, followed by moving from his crib to a toddler bed, peeing standing up and using a urinal in public restrooms (!), and most recently, giving up his pacifier (affectionately called "nuk" in our house) to the "Nuk Fairy." This last one has had the biggest impact, because the Nuk Fairy seemed to have accidentally taken Noah's nap away, too. Noah had previously been napping for 2-2.5 hours a day, so he doesn't seem fully ready to drop his nap, and his mood for the past week has been VERY CHALLENGING. He's like a grumpy bear that has just come out of hibernation. I have been disappointed to lose my break in the afternoon, but it's compounded by the fact that Noah isn't just awake, but he is whiny, needy and pushing limits in every way (aka, over tired!). We've attempted "quiet time" instead of nap time, but he calls my name the entire time and throws matchbox cars at his door when I don't answer. I'm hoping with a little more time, he will settle into a better schedule.

Our lovely BirdieLou photos couldn't have come at a better time, because they reminded me just how precious and fleeting these days are, even when they are incredibly taxing.
Evie had her 7-year checkup, and while we knew she had grown a lot this year, it was a little shocking to learn that she had grown 3 inches and gained 5 lbs since her last checkup! We are grateful for a healthy checkup report from the amazing Dr. Hale.

We had the chance to see STOMP! at the Flynn on Saturday, and it was great! The kids were a little wiggly, but definitely enjoyed it, as well.
