We had a fun weekend celebrating Easter, despite the need to wipe Evie's nose every 30 seconds...yup, she's sick AGAIN! Poor girl!
Saturday, we went for a nice family hike until we encountered a coyote about 30 feet away. It was quite a scare, especially because the coyote was not afraid of us. The coyote was staring at us, belly-crawling toward us, and stalking us while Roscoe barked at the top of his lungs. Fortunately, we were able to get past it and continue on our way, and eventually the coyote just laid down and started sunning itself.

We started our Easter celebration by dying eggs, and we were smart enough to cover the carpet in a tarp and cover the table with newspaper. Matt thought that was overkill, but then Evie took her first egg and chucked it into the red dye from about a foot above. I heard a splash and crack, and my hand and arm were covered in red dye. We got smarter from there and helped Evie gently place each remaining egg into the dye.
Easter morning was busy, because Evelyn slept in, and we had about 20 minutes for Easter Bunny festivities before we had to leave for church. Evie LOVED finding the eggs hidden around the house, and she has been asking to "play easter egg" ever since!

After church, we went to Grandpa Tom's for his big Easter Egg hunt, and it was especially fun to see Evie enjoy it this year. Each clue that she had was a picture of something in the house where she would go and find a hidden egg. With each egg she found, she wanted to have a bite of the food where it was hidden (cheerios, oreos, croutons, baking soda?!).

Wow, that seems a little wired that the coyote was not scared of you guys at all. I would be freaked out for sure. Of course, my boys would probable try to run over toward it to "pet the nice doggy." Yikes.
ReplyDeleteWe actually called a game warden when we got home, because we thought it was pretty weird, too! Fortunately, Evie was in the backpack on my back, because she was asking, "What dat kitty cat?" Creepy!!
