23 Months

Evelyn turned 23 months last week, and it's hard to believe that she will be two years old next month!
With the tragedy in Boston yesterday, my first reaction was to hug Evie as tight as I could and give thanks that we had a perfectly normal day together.  Our hearts are heavy and our prayers are with everyone in Boston.

We are amazed at how quickly Evelyn is learning these days.  In the past couple of weeks, Evelyn has learned to count to five, and she has also started pointing out certain letters when we're reading books.  Of course, "D for Daddy" is her favorite, and she gets distressed when the page doesn't contain the letter D.  ("Where D for Daddy go?", she asks).  She also looks for letters on baby food jars, on street signs, and anywhere that there are letters to be seen.

Evelyn's favorite pass time right now is putting on whatever shoes, hats, glasses, etc. that she can find.  It's adorable and will keep her busy for quite a while if I am trying to get something done, but the payback is that I find articles of clothing sprinkled all around the house!

My personal favorite development lately is that Evelyn is starting to sing.  I use that term loosely, but it all started with singing "Happy Birthday" to Aunt Kristine, and since then she's been trying to sing along with more and more songs.  We went to music class at Buttered Noodles last week, and even though Evie was a little shy around all the other kids, she couldn't stop talking about it afterward.  We hope to go back again soon!

And now that the weather is getting nice, we are enjoying spending as much time outside as possible!
