Full Swing

Last week was the first full 5-day school week, and activities are all in full swing, as well.  Evie has been going to violin lessons, helping to teach a dance class, and then dancing 3-4 days per week, and Noah is keeping busy with Swish basketball, fall baseball, and band at school.

Travel for the kids' activities is going to start next weekend, so we enjoyed having last weekend at home to recharge and do a few fun family things.  Friday night, we went to a show at the Flynn called A Taste of Ireland along with a group of other dancers and families from McFadden.  It's always exciting to see professional Irish dancers to see what is out there beyond competitions.

On Saturday, I insisted on family trip to the apple orchard.  It's not quite the same as it used to be when the kids were little, but we still had a lovely afternoon riding the tractor, picking apples, and stocking up on treats like honey sticks, cider and freshly-made donuts!

Comparing who shined their apple the most

Noah had his first two Swish basketball games of the year and a fall baseball game over the weekend, as well.  His teams did well and won all three competitions, and Noah had a lot of fun being back at it with his teams.  Since he hasn't played basketball since last winter, it was noticeable how much the kids have all gotten stronger and more skilled, and how much they have grown! He still lists both sports as a tie for his favorite!

We have also been savoring the sunshine and plentiful fresh produce that's available right now.  September has been so perfect weather-wise, and it's making this Vermonter a little nervous that we're going to pay for it this Winter when the weather turns cold!  But for now, we're loving it!

One more birthday celebration - with apple pie!
