Spooky Happenings

Now that Halloween is less than two weeks away, the kids are getting in the spirit!  Costumes have been ordered, and we had a great time at our friends' annual Halloween party over the weekend.  This year, we went as a family of skeletons, but failed to get a picture of all four of us together, sadly!  As always, it was a great chance to catch up with friends and enjoy some good food!

Noah has been into trying some different "recipes" lately, and despite my desire to have control over the kitchen, I've let him do it.  First up, Noah wanted to make watermelon juice by using the immersion blender in a small watermelon.  Surprisngly, it worked, and he drank some of the juice, but I'm not sure it was quite as delicious as he imagined.  Matt took the creative route and carved the watermelon for an outdoor Halloween decoration, so it was a win-win!  Next up, Noah made some "chicken tender tacos"...not the most nutritional menu item, but he learned a few kitchen skills and ate them all.  Finally, I was able to get Noah's help making some Halloween cupcakes, which he didn't find quite as fun as creating his own recipe, but we agreed that the end result was pretty tasty!

Other highlights of the week...we got to meet our friends' sweet new puppy, Ginny!  Awwww!!

We had a fun and relaxing happy hour at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
We found a beer for Grandpa called "Deer Camp" - how fitting!

I was the recipient of some serious Ellie snuggles

Noah was very cozy and took a snooze on the couch while we watched baseball

Our final Sweet Scoops ice cream trip of the year!  The nice warm weather made it even more enjoyable!

Haircut time!

Noah's keeping up his baseball practice by moving the batting cage to the basement!
