Hints of Fall

I think the denial is over, and we are officially back in school mode.  The pool has closed, our bodies wake up at 6:30 on weekend sleep-in days because we are used to waking up early during the week, and yet it feels like we are still muddling our way through our new routines.  This week, all of Evie's music activities are starting back up, which is fun, except the groups all meet BEFORE school, which has her a little disgruntled!

Falling asleep at dinner (fake!)

A few other signs of fall are creeping in - fall fishing, a mouse nest in the grill (!), baking, and board games.

Amazing job, Evie!

We capped off the week by celebrating my birthday on Friday!  It was a perfect, sunny fall day...not too hot, not too cold, and I felt so incredibly loved by all the birthday wishes and kind gestures.  I got to start the day with Jazzercise with my mom, played some pickleball with Matt, and then indulged in homemade pizza with the whole family in the evening.  It was my version of a perfect day!

Birthday Girl!

Nothing beats Mom's pizza.  YUM!

I loved Noah's handwriting on this card

Special gift package from Evie.  She wrapped everything and made me a couple very special gifts!

Delicious birthday cake!

The festivities continued on Saturday with Aunt Pea's annual fall party.  Mother Nature didn't cooperate, but the party was still a blast despite the chilly, rainy evening.  There was a special toast to honor Nana Mil, since this is the first party that she has not been with us, but we know she was smiling down on us.  The food truck was fantastic, the band was amazing, and the fireworks did not disappoint!

Noah had his first basketball game and his first baseball game of the fall season over the weekend.  Considering that he hasn't had much practice at either sport lately, it wasn't too bad!
