Last week, after all the beautiful snow on Sunday, we were met with rain, ice and hurricane-force winds on Monday night. Preparing for a wind storm is not something we've had to do often, so we just gathered up flashlights and lanterns, charged our phones, and filled up some extra water jugs. We could hear the wind howling all night long, but thankfully we were spared any damage or loss of power from the storm.

After the storm cleared, we celebrated a belated Christmas with Grandma Karen. The kids were thrilled to have Christmas continue a little bit longer!

The other big highlight of the week was basketball. Noah had set a few goals for himself this season: score 10 points, score the first basket of the game, and make a left-handed layup shot in a game. On Saturday, he achieved all 3! Noah scored a whopping 20 points at his basketball game (we were honestly a little bit embarrassed, but it was one of those days when he couldn't miss a shot). That afternoon, Noah's team got to scrimmage at Patrick Gym during halftime of the UVM Men's Basketball game. It was an incredible experience for Noah and his teammates to run out on the big court and hear the cheers from the crowd as they played.

As Noah does when he really enjoys something, he came home and reenacted the whole thing. Our basement basketball court has been transformed into Patrick Gym, complete with Rally Cat (the mascot), the UVM logo on the floor, signs, and a sweat mop for the floor. He has been practicing a lot at home, always wanting to get better, and it's been fun to see his improvement so far this season!

Over the long weekend, Evie made some homemade dog treats for Ellie's 3rd birthday! They smelled good enough to eat. The cold snap has arrived in VT, so we had to keep busy over the weekend with some indoor activities, like climbing at Metro Rock with friends, watching football, playing games, and baking.
