Finally...a little snow!

The first week back was an adjustment for everyone!  Waking up early was hard, and we all felt like we had jet lag for most of the week.  I even took an accidental nap in Noah's bed when we were playing after school.  He was so sweet to let me use his blanket and snooze for a little bit!  We did our best to take it easy throughout the week, and we made some time for family games after dinner.  We have lots of new games from Christmas, and this week we played Monopoly Go, Back to the Drawing Board, and What Do You Meme.  All were super fun, and helped us through the dreary evenings.

King Arthur recipe of the year - definitely worth making!

We took down our Christmas tree and got the decorations put away, so it feels clean, but a little stark in our house.  As often happens in January, I've been going through closets, cupboards, and drawers and cleaning out!  It feels so good to purge and have a fresh start at the beginning of the new year.  

Oh yeah, I went in with a head lamp to clean the pantry closet!

Noah is back in the swing of basketball, and he had his first Saturday game this past weekend.  Noah likes the Saturday games, because they have real officials, and it feels more like an actual game.  He is having fun with parks and rec basketball this year, but we think he will be ready for more of a challenge next year.

 Sunday, we finally had a decent snow storm!  The roads were terrible, so we didn't want to venture too far, but we had a fun afternoon of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Aunt Pea's house.  Elliot groomed a nordic skiing trail for us around the whole property, which was quite a treat, and it gave Evie a chance to finally try out the new x-c skis she got for Christmas.  Good news...she loves them!
