Sick week and Easter festivities

Last week was a long one.  Both kids ended up catching the cold that Matt and I had the previous week, and one or both of them were home from school almost every day last week.  It's hard when kids are so congested, because you can't do much to help.  We tried saline nasal spray, hot steam baths, soup, tea, Advil, cough drops, but really it just took time and patience for everyone to get better.  Evie and I seemed to have the more extreme version of the cold, and luckily the boys fought it off more quickly.  We stuck close to home, went through a lot of tissues and home Covid tests, and thankfully everyone was feeling better by the weekend in time for Easter festivities.

We used our first LAMP test on Evie (a take-home PCR test)

Nurse Frankie provided snuggles for everyone who needed them!

After a failed attempt at a community egg hunt on Saturday (we have taken to calling it "the eggless egg hunt", but I think they were just under-prepared for the number of people who turned out), our awesome neighbors "egged" us by hiding a bunch of eggs outside for the kids to find.  Evie and Noah loved having their own personal egg hunt, and we were so touched by the kindness of our neighbors!  We also had a visit with our sweet little goddaughter Emily and her family, and the kids colored Easter eggs together.  Emily loves Frankie, despite Frankie's over-excitement for our visitors!

Waiting for the "eggless hunt" to begin

One final visit to Turner Toys in Essex before they move to Williston

We are going to miss this little store!

Our neighbors are the best!

Having fun with their egg hunt

Evie was SO good with Emily!

Frankie was obsessed with Mary-Alice...she tried to sit on top of her multiple times!  How embarrassing!

Emily loved Frankie!

Easter Sunday was chilly, but we woke up to the sun shining and lots of treats from the Easter Bunny.  The kids found all the eggs and enjoyed some treats and toys before we headed to church.  After church, we went to Aunt Pea's for a relaxing afternoon of brunch and some family time.  By then, it was snowing outside, but it didn't deter the kids from going out to play with Colby!

Even Frankie got a little treat - a new toy!

All dressed up for church!  Don't they look adorable?

So much deliciousness!

Pretty girls in pink!

We are glad to have this week for the kids' Spring Break from school so that we can have a breather from the school germs, and have some time for fun!  Noah can't wait to go see the Bad Guys movie when it opens on Friday.  He has been reading all the books in preparation!
