Icy cold

Reflecting back on the past week, all I can remember is how COLD it was!  We had several days where the temperature was waaaaaaaaay below zero.  The icing (ha ha, literally ice) on the cake was Saturday morning, when it was -24 and my car wouldn't start.  After Matt's heroic efforts to push my car out of the garage and attempt to jump start it, we were stumped and had to call a tow truck.  Thankfully, they were able to come quickly, and I had my car back with a brand new battery in 2 hours.  Even more thankfully, my battery didn't die when we were traveling to NH last weekend, and the only thing we missed out on was our trip to the library.  The most heart-warming part of the whole fiasco is that the kids knew I was stressed, and they came inside and cleaned the house while we were outside trying to jump my car.  So sweet!

Making frozen bubbles

They didn't last long - they froze, then shriveled up pretty fast!

The kids were much more brave than us adults about the weather, and they just bundled up and went out to play, even when it was in the single digits above zero.  Evie built a "Snow-tel" (snow hotel) in the big snow pile made by the plow, and Noah made a sledding tunnel and slid around like a little penguin.  They even had friends over to play, which we haven't done in a while thanks to Covid cases.

It was good weather for eating and napping, at least!

We ended the week with some fun - a basketball game, a celebration for Tom's birthday, and a belated Christmas celebration with Grandma Karen.
Noah did the jump ball to start the game!

Fiddlehead Friday!

Happy Birthday Tom!

Christmas in January!

A Harry Potter wand!

Some awesome body products from Grandma Karen!

Evie and Grandma

Frankie had fun all week, with lots of puppy play dates since it was too cold for long walks.
Loving the play time at Aunt Pea's with cousin Cherry

So much fun at Aunt Pea's dog park!  Four dogs playing tug at once!

The aftermath of puppy play dates

So tired

Completely ridiculous
