Rolling With the Punches

 Last week threw us a few curveballs!  Noah bravely embarked on his week of "Test to Stay" during the week at school, reporting directly to a conference room to get Covid tested at the start of each school day.  This new program is just rolling out, but it was great that the kids were able to stay at school, because this would have been a week of remote learning earlier in the year.  Just as Noah finished his week of testing, we were notified of two cases in Evie's class, so she had to begin a week of testing at school.  I have been really proud of the kids for their flexibility with everything they are being asked to do at school to keep everyone safe.  My biggest prayer right now is that the kids stay healthy so they can get their vaccine on Wednesday!

Since the kids have been identified as close contacts, even though they can stay at school, we have had to stick close to home and have them quarantine outside of school.  It's been fine for the most part, but there has been more bickering and impatience because it's hard to be together all the time!  To add to the challenges of the week, I tweaked a muscle in my back, so I have had to rest, ice, stretch and make some visits to the chiropractor.  Matt's been awesome about picking up the slack so I can heal quickly!

On a positive note, we have had time to make lots of good food, we've had so many snuggles from Frankie, and some time to catch up on projects around home.  We've played board games, indoor laser tag (in the dark basement!), and done some science projects.  We also got to see Carly during a quick visit to VT, and we tuned in to the livestream of Elliot's State Championship Football game (and they won!!).  It's really not that bad being at home, but when we feel like we CAN'T leave, suddenly that's all we want to do!
