Last week, we were thrilled with the news that kids ages 5-11 can now sign up for a Covid vaccine. Both of our kids will have their first vaccine next week, which means that they'll be fully vaccinated by Christmas. This school year has felt much riskier to our kids' health, and it's a huge relief to know that they'll have a layer of protection once they're vaccinated. We were informed of a Covid case in Noah's class over the weekend, so his class had to stay home today, and they will "test to stay" at school for the rest of this week. The cases in Vermont continue to be alarmingly high, and nothing feels 100% safe.
Noah continues to be obsessed with playing football. He mostly plays catch (sometimes with himself!), punts, and and plays flag football with anyone in the family that's willing to join. Sometimes we'll just go to a big field where he can spread out and have his 1-player "football game" while we exercise Frankie. It's Covid-era entertainment at its best!
Evie's big news of the week is that she now owns her first Solo Dress for Irish dance. It's a big honor to reach the level where you start wearing the fancy dresses for competitions, and we were lucky that an older dancer at our studio was selling an outgrown dress. It fit Evie like a glove!
My exciting news of the week is that I got to meet our friends' sweet new baby! Now that my kids are older, I don't get to be around babies as often as I used to. Snuggling this sweet girl (and visiting with her parents) filled my cup for the whole week!

And of course, snuggling Frankie is a favorite pass time! The ticks are really bad right now, so every time we go out walking in the woods, we have to spend a lot of time combing through Frankie's fur for ticks. She was feeling her wild oats when we were out walking in the woods during the weekend, and she took herself on a little adventure, ignoring all of our calls. We knew she'd eventually come back, but it was frustrating and scary for a few minutes, and now we're taking a break from off-leash adventures!
