The best, BEST news of the week was the kids stayed healthy and were able to get their first Covid vaccine on Wednesday. With all the Covid cases in the schools lately, I was really worried that they would get sick and miss their vaccine appointment. Luckily, we made it, and they both said their arm was a little bit sore, but they thought it was less painful than the flu shot. If all goes according to plan, they'll be fully vaccinated by Christmas! I also got my booster yesterday, so we are glad to have extra protection for everyone as we head into winter.
We are frequent members of the Test to Stay program at the kids' schools now. First Noah had a week, then Evie had a week and a half, then Noah again! We feel a little bit weary from it all, but the kids have taken it in stride, and thankfully their school schedule hasn't been disrupted. Without the testing at school, we would have had a kid home quarantining for 3 straight weeks, so even though life feels hard, I am trying to be grateful for these steps in the right direction. The hardest part is that they have to quarantine outside of school, so we are tired of being at home and not having the freedom to have play dates or go to any indoor venues, especially now that the weather is getting colder. Everyone gets a little bit short-tempered with too much togetherness!

We have (safely) busted out of quarantine a couple of times, too. We celebrated Grandma Betti's birthday on Friday, we had outdoor, safely-distanced family photos done on Saturday, and we went for a hike at Indian Brook on Sunday. Other than that, it's been a lot of time at home playing board games, doing craft projects, making music, breaking up arguments, doing a little playroom clean-out, and snuggling with our Frankie girl.

It is almost time for Thanksgiving, and we hope everyone has a great time celebrating! We are glad that we can gather with a small group this year. We were gifted this giant chocolate turkey, so the celebration has already begun at our house!
