Keepin' on keeping on

Last week was a pretty ordinary week, which is a welcome thing these days!  But honestly, even during the normal weeks, there is a heavy mental load of always being prepared for plans to shift or get cancelled.  Lots of kids in Evie and Noah's age bracket are having to quarantine and/or get tested for Covid, due to symptoms from colds and close contact exposures.  As a small example, Noah wasn't allowed to board the school bus on Monday AM, because he was mistakenly put on a quarantine list.  We had to bring him back home, contact the school, and then drive him in once it was all straightened out an hour later. It all worked out fine, thankfully, but we will be glad when the kids are able to get vaccinated and be more protected.

Highlights of the week were a celebration of Grandma Karen's birthday, a puppy play date/day, and our first time apple picking for the season.

They look so innocent, right?

These two had a fun day together!  It was like Puppy WWF!

All set up for a B-Day concert for Grandma

Noah loved being up here for his performance!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Evie enjoyed her snacks!

Rainy weather cancelled soccer for the weekend, which gave us time to get our flu shots, do some fall/Halloween decorating, and have a play date with our friends!

Drive-thru flu shots for the whole family!

Noah has been very busy writing books about football lately.  They're adorable!

Noah was busily working on this whole setup and then he called us out to see his work!

It's not Fall without some Candy Corn!

Yesterday was a special day - the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, who Frankie was named after.  Since St. Francis was the patron saint of Animals, there was a blessing of the animals outside our church in the afternoon.  It was Frankie's first visit to St. Mike's, and even though she was a little nervous with all the stimulation, she was a good girl.  She didn't particularly enjoy being sprinkled with Holy Water, though!
