Welcome to Fall!

Ahh, Fall!  While the calendar officially switched over to Fall last week, the weather was still in summer mode for a few unseasonably warm and humid days.  That worked in our favor, because Noah had a lingering cough from his cold, and he had to stay home from school for a couple more days and get another Covid test.  Other than the cough, he felt great, so we spent a lot of time enjoying the fresh air with football and sidewalk chalk!

We also appreciated the warm weather for a fun new tradition of biking home from school with Evie when her PE biking unit ends...and of course, stopping for ice cream is a mandatory part of our route home!

The weekend was filled with fall fun, including Saturday soccer, a gig for Daddy, some family time at a corn maze on Sunday, and enjoying Evie's homemade apple pie for dessert (thanks for the help, Grandma!).

Frankie is pretty much recovered from her spaying surgery, with just a small scar on her belly that is continuing to heal.  She has SO much energy now after being cooped up at home, so by Friday, we thought her healing was far enough along that we could let her play with the neighborhood puppy friends, and she loved it!

The final piece of excitement for the week was the arrival of our first passports!  I'm embarrassed to admit that Matt and I have never had passports.  We have been hoping to take a nice, warm beachy vacation to celebrate each of us turning 40 this year, as well as our 15th anniversary, so that was the perfect motivator to get the passport process rolling.  We are still unsure whether the vacation will happen this winter, but at least this important piece is in place and ready to go when it's safe to travel again!
