Last week was punctuated with some fun events that made life feel almost normal-ish. First, I was able to volunteer at Evie's school with the Four Winds Nature Program for the first time in almost 2 years, and I loved spending time with Evie and her class and teaching the kids about nature. Then, Evie had her Fun Run on Friday, which was another great time to be with the class, and she did an awesome job running 2 miles in 20 minutes. I had told Evie not to run too hard, because she had her first out-of-state Irish Dance Feis in Massachusetts on Saturday AM, and I didn't want her legs to be sore! Oh well...you gotta love a youthful body that can handle two athletic feats on successive days. The 2-mile run must have worked well to prepare Evie, because she nailed her steps and got great scores at her dance competition. She did 4 dances, and she placed 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th. The whole event was a lot of fun, and the best part was seeing the joy radiate from Evie while she was up on stage dancing. Noah got to have some special time with Grandma and Grandpa while we were gone, and he even went to the Homecoming football game to watch Elliot play, so it was a fun weekend for everyone!
