Afraid of Heights

Last week we added a few finishing touches to our house renovations - new wall art, a new dining room light fixture, and a dining room rug (Black Friday deals!).  We are loving how cozy and updated everything feels, and we can't wait until we can actually have people over to enjoy the updated space with us!  The dining room rug is a Ruggable, which is machine-washable when stuff gets spilled on it.  How cool is that?!  Matt gets the bravery award for installing the light fixture on the cathedral ceiling while perched on some rented scaffolding from Home Depot.  I'm afraid of heights, so just watching that project gave me nightmares.  He did a great job!

We also had our first snowfall (only a few inches), which was fun while it lasted.  The kids loved playing outside, making a snowman, and Frankie also LOVED the snow!  The novelty was appreciated during these long weeks of staying at home so much.  We are hoping we get some more snow before Christmas!

Another hike - one of the consistently safe activities that gets us out of the house!

We have continued to try and get into the Christmas spirit despite the restrictions. Christmas movies, cookie baking, gingerbread houses, and a community toy drop-off with a bunch of vehicles decked out with holiday lights were our festive events for this week.  We are really missing gathering with family and friends, but we are thankful for all the holiday lights and various ways our community is helping to lift each other up.

Evie made this adorable breakfast for us on Saturday!

Do you see our Elf named "Wishes" peeking out?

Our breeder is having a holiday photo contest - here is Frankie's entry!

Frankie continues to bring smiles every day.  She is such a loyal companion, following me as I go about my day, and laying down at my feet (or eating my slippers) when I sit down.  We couldn't ask for a better gift for this crazy year.
New favorite snuggle spot: Evie's beanbag

She literally likes to sit like this and just snuggle

After attempting to join Evie in the bath, she settled for just licking the water off her head

"Helping" with the laundry

Thankfully she hasn't realized she is kind of big for a lap dog :-)

Oh, I did have one other moment of joy this week...my Kitchen Aid mixer returned from the repair shop, just in time for holiday baking!  YAY!
