First week of school

Back to school week is behind us, and we all survived.  Noah made it through his first week of preschool, and he was really brave, considering this is his first time in a childcare setting.  He had a few tears on his first day after we were gone, but his teachers were great and his second day was even better.  Surprisingly, Noah loves to give us a complete play-by-play of his school days when we pick him up, and so far, he has been really excited to tell us what they had for snack!  I love seeing Evie listen to him and remember doing some of the same things when she was in preschool.

Evie's start to her school year was good, but she was pretty exhausted (aka, grumpy) as she adjusted back to the longer days.  As the week went on, each day she seemed a little more excited and shared a few more details when she got home from school, so we are hopeful that she will have another good year once she settles in.

I had my first morning with both kids at school, and it was weird, but coffee with my dear friend helped pass the time and kept me from getting too lonely.  The holiday weekend was needed and appreciated after the busy week.  We enjoyed movie night, playing with friends, a little swimming (perhaps the last of the season?), another visit to the train park, and Matt and I went to see the Pentatonix in concert.  The beauty of their music filled my soul, and it felt like the perfect celebration for getting through the first week of school!
