Sunshine and warmth

We finally had a whole week that felt like summer, and we packed a lot in.  Evie had dance camp every morning last week, and most days, we raced home and went to the pool for a swim before Noah's nap.  Evie loved dance camp and was so excited for her end-of-week performance that she was inviting everyone to come see it.

To enjoy the summery weather, we ate lots of cold treats, swam with friends, celebrated Grandpa and Carly's birthdays, relaxed to the tunes of King Me, and had a fun visit with Scott and Micah.  Yesterday felt like winter in July at 60 degrees and rainy, but in some ways we needed a day to recharge after all the summer fun.  One day is enough, though - come back, Mr. Golden Sun!

We did have a moment of excitement on Saturday.  There had been a friendly cat hanging around outside our house for most of the day, and at dinner time it was meowing at our front door and begging to come in.  I called the number on the tag, and while I was talking to the owner, Evie went out the door and Roscoe escaped and started chasing the cat.  Evie was screaming, Roscoe was missing, and so was the cat.  By some small miracle, Matt got Roscoe back quickly, the cat returned soon after, and we were able to reunite him with his family.  Phew!

And Noah continues to entertain us...here are a few moments that made us laugh!

Noah: "Let's play church - I'll be Matt and you be Maya!"
