School's out!

We bid goodbye to kindergarten at the end of last week.  Evie was excited about the festivities of the week, especially Fun Day on Thursday. I was lucky enough to spend most of the day with Evie's class doing bubbles, chalk, dance partying, eating hot lunch, doing field games and paper rocket launches.  Admittedly, I cried as I looked at her kindergarten memory binder and reflected on how much she has grown this year!  My heart is so grateful for a wonderful first year of school.

We wanted to do something fun to celebrate the end of school, so we had a family movie night on Friday night, then went to the Summer Reading Program kickoff at our library on Saturday morning.  They put together a really fun event that has gotten Evie psyched to do a lot of reading this summer.  Her goal of reading 400 books may be a little ambitious, but then again, 6 picture books a day isn't impossible!

Matt enjoyed a relaxing Father's Day afternoon at the pool with Evie, and we had dinner with his dad that evening.  Noah had a rough day, because he is recovering from an ear infection and his feelings of illness were channeled into screaming, hitting, and throwing things (and consequential time-outs).

It kind of feels like we are limping into summer with sore throats and stuffy noses.  Hopefully the break in routine will refresh us all!
