It seems that our children have saved up all their developmental milestones for one week. This week, Noah FINALLY got his first tooth, and we're thinking the next one is not far behind. He has been more screamy and shrieky than usual, but otherwise has not had a lot of teething symptoms.
Noah's officially crawling now too, although it's a weird belly crawl. He has gone from squirming on his belly to really making forward progress and crawling across the room. Now that he's gotten a taste of freedom, it's been a little scary to see how fast he has honed his skills!
With these new developments, we are seeing more frustration because he'd rather be exploring his surroundings than getting his diaper changed, having a bath, or getting buckled into his car seat. I'm finding the shrieking to be particularly grating, and it's making church, grocery shopping, and meals into stressful events. Hopefully he finds a new noise soon!

Not to be outdone by her brother, Evie decided she was ready for a big milestone this week too - it was time for the "nuk fairy" to visit. I've mentioned our angst surrounding her pacifier use, and we wondered how traumatic it would be when she finally gave it up. We had discussed the idea of the nuk fairy coming and leaving a present for Evie when she was sleeping and taking her nuks to a new baby boy or girl that needs them, but we had left it up to her to decide when she was ready. Who knows why she decided Saturday was the night, but she told us she was ready, and we jumped on board. It was a little tough for her to fall asleep, but we encouraged her to snuggle her stuffed animals extra tight when she felt sad. She was very excited to see the treats that the nuk fairy brought her in the morning and I could tell she was really proud of herself. It was a bittersweet moment for us, as it's one more reminder that our girl is growing up. We spent so much time and energy worrying about this, and everyone was right that she'd do it when she was ready.

Aside from the milestones, the weather was so, so nice last week. We had a ton of outdoor time and felt like Mother Nature finally made up for the long winter we experienced!
