Back to the grind

Even though I'm not back at work, it is back to reality for all of us this week.  Groceries, laundry, chores, cooking, watching the kids...it's time to get disciplined with my time again!  It sure was nice to have over two weeks with Matt home, though.

The second half of our vacation was much more restful than the first.  We had quite a few lazy days at home, watching Frozen, enjoying the new Christmas toys, snoozing, taking selfies, doing crafts, playing with my new iPhone, etc.

We spent New Year's at home, enjoying a gourmet feast of filet mignon and Alaskan King Crab legs, growlers of local beer, and we were happy to have my dad and the Riggen family join us!  It was a great way to ring in the new year.  You all would have been wowed by me and my sister's awesome piano duets (after a few drinks, mind you!), and the cousins had lots of fun together, too!

We also had a very fun ice skating birthday to attend for Evie's friend Ivy (try to say those two names a few times without getting confused!).  It was Evie's first time on skates, and she loved it!  She has asked every day since then if we can go ice skating.  Uncle Corey showed off his crazy hockey skating skills, and Evie thought it was pretty fun when he took her for a spin around the ice.  I can still remember skating with my Grandpa Hank when I was a kid, and I have a feeling he was smiling down at Evie on the ice.
