It's been a busy week, and not only did we celebrate Christmas several times, but Noah also turned 7 months old! Here are a few highlights of his life at 7 months:
- He is spitting up much less than he did a few months ago, and his tummy seems happier, too. It's a huge relief that the hour-long screaming episodes are over. He does still spit up sometimes, and he trashed my dry-clean-only pants on Christmas Eve, so we aren't completely out of the woods yet!
- He smiles a lot and is very social. Four Christmases suited him much better than it did his big sister.
- He is still nursing, but also loves baby food and bites of regular food. He even tried a few bites of Christmas cookies!
- He sleeps roughly 8pm-8am and wakes up 1-2 times per night to nurse (yawn!)
- He sits up well and is at that awesome age where he will sit contentedly with a bunch of toys and entertain himself for a bit
It has been really interesting to see how different Evie and Noah are, both physically and personality-wise. I feel like they complement each other well, and I hope they always love each other as much as they do right now.

Christmas (or should I say Christmases) were great. We had a chance to see all of our families, and there were some really special moments, especially sharing some delicious meals with our loved ones, watching the Christmas pageant with Evie at church (and hearing her talk about baby Jesus and how there was no room at the inn), watching Noah open his first gifts and then sleep in the arms of his great-grandma, and hearing Evie's excited expression as she sleepily asked, "Did Santa Claus come?!"
We felt like a bit of a failure on Christmas morning, because Evie had been saying during the entire Advent season that she didn't want anything for Christmas. Well, on Christmas Eve at 9:30pm, she wrote her note to Santa and said, "Dear Santa, I've decided what I want for Christmas. A new cupcake set and a doll mom." Uh oh. Santa brought Evie a cool balance bike with skis so she can ride it in the snow, but she told us that Santa forgot her cupcake set. I told her that it was probably because he knew she had already gotten a gift card to the toy store and would want to go pick one out herself. Try as we might to make Christmas perfect, it never is, but it was still wonderful.

Post-Christmas, I have had visits with several dear friends who were in town for the holiday. Matt has been on vacation and able to hang out with the kids, so I've had more of a social life in the last 3 days than I've had in the previous 3 months! We've also had some fun family time outside, despite the lack of snow. Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year!
