Thank you all for your kindness in reaching out to us after Noah's injury last week. He is doing really well, and it has reminded us that we have some incredibly thoughtful friends and families. The first couple of days with the cast were a little clumsy, he couldn't really sit up, and seemed a little bit uncomfortable and frustrated. Since then, he has been right back to his happy, active self. He has even figured out how to roll over with that heavy cast on his leg! Evie has been re-telling the story to anyone who will listen, including every teacher, librarian, cashier, and friend we've seen since last Monday.

The cast is waterproof which makes it soooo much easier!
Noah's eating has gotten a little more adventurous, because he likes baby food, but he LOVES real food. It dawned on me that he's gotten to the stage where he can be entertained with a tray full of Cheerios, and it worked like a charm while I ate breakfast yesterday!

Cheerios, bell peppers and bananas - yum!
We finally found the time over the weekend to add some decor to Noah's walls. The poor kid is almost 8 months old and his nursery is just now finished. Obviously this is not our first kid.
Last week, Evie had her first haircut in over two years, but really it was just a trim. She wanted to keep her hair long, but it had started looking scraggly. Somehow I forgot to take an "after" picture, but I assure you, she looks cute!
The rest of the week was spent visiting with friends, baking, playing in the snow, and watching a little football. All around, a great week!

Hot tubbing in the single digits while visiting with our friend Scott. It was so fun!!

Evie the homemaker - baking, making hot cocoa, and mopping the floors

One of my Christmas gifts - a homemade dinner from our niece, Carly. How amazing is she for 12 years old?!!
|
You're still #1 to us, Colts. Great season, cousin Pat!

This is how Roscoe waits while Matt takes Evie into school. Such a mopey hound dog!
|
We were all happy to be back to our normal Monday routine yesterday! (Bitty Baby even joined us at the grocery store)
And here's a little laugh for the week. We thought it would be cute to have a handprint ornament from Noah's first Christmas (we made one for Evie when she was a baby), and it was a complete failure! We stuck Noah's hand in the goo to make an imprint, and he immediately grabbed it and the gel started hardening around his fist. Let's just say it didn't come out quite like the picture on the box!
