Birthdays and Brew Fest

Let's begin with some happy birthday wishes to two of our favorite people in the whole world - Grandpa Zeke and Cousin Carly!  Evie loved the birthday celebrations, and she is a big helper with opening gifts, blowing out candles, and eating birthday cake!  After Grandpa's b-day party, Evie didn't get to bed until 10pm, and we were lucky that she slept in until after 9:00 the next morning.

Last week we got to meet some adorable kittens, and this week it was the sweet 9-week-old puppy named Nike.  He's adorable and sweet, and he was so good with Evie (and she with him)!

Amidst all the birthday excitement, we had a few quiet moments during the week, too:

A little love for momma

Mommy and Daddy got to have a fun night out at the Brew Fest in Burlington on Friday.  We were sidelined by a storm for a couple hours, but went right back to drinking beer as soon as the storm had passed.  My mom volunteered to be the designated driver, and all she needed was a huge bag of kettle corn to keep her happy!  A fun night for all on the eve of my dad's b-day!

I feel the need to explain the lower-left photo - we were all feeling sooooo full from the beers, so we were showing off our beer bellies!
