14 Months!

Today marks Evelyn's 14-month birthday!  With each month that passes, I pause and give thanks for our beautiful girl.  We are truly blessed.  Here are some milestones at 14 months: 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom), walking and running all over the place, huge vocabulary, tries to repeat and copy everything I do (putting away groceries, folding laundry, yelling at Roscoe, etc.), loves books, being outside, swimming, and eating, still nurses morning/night/naptime, sleeps 12 hours per night, takes two naps but seems to be heading toward one soon, adores other kids, and can still be a little shy at first.

Happy 14 Months Evie!
There have been lots of happenings over the past couple of weeks, so get ready for a bunch of photos.  I took the week off from blogging last week, because we were at camp for the 4th of July, and we are "off the grid" there.  It was great to be away and have a break from technology!
Happy 4th of July!
Before we headed out on vacation, we had a great Italian dinner with my Great-Aunt Joan who is visiting from Florida.  She is Italian, so she makes the most wonderful food, and Evie approved of her spaghetti and meatballs.  It was the quietest and most content she's ever been during a meal, I think!

Our garden is growing like crazy, and so is our child!  Here are a few shots of things around the yard at home...
Our neighbor bought Evie this bee - how sweet!

Cherry tomatoes

Banana peppers
Evelyn also had her first tiny haircut before we headed out on vacation.  She wasn't thrilled about it, but Sonia, my sweet hairdresser (who is about 37 weeks pregnant), was incredibly patient and was able to snip those long bangs.

After such a busy week, we were very excited to head off for a week at Shadow Lake with the family.  Evelyn did great at camp, and she settled into a routine there very quickly.  We appreciated having the extra hands around to help with Evie, too!  Oh, and I am proud to say that I got up and ran 1.6 miles with Matt on 5 out of 6 mornings we were there!  (I am NOT a runner, but I was happy to get the exercise).

Evie adores her cousins, and they had a great week together

Doing a little 4th of July BBQ with Zeke

Group photo - don't forget the 4 dogs that were there, too!

My mom had just run 5 miles, and then jumped into playing with Evie as soon as she got back

There's only a shower at camp, so we used this nifty inflatable tub for bath time

Books with Grandpa

Bonfire (Evie was already in bed)

One of the most fun activities for Evie at camp

Splash!

Kayaking...we'll try again when she's a little bigger, but she only lasted about 5 minutes for our first trip

Playing in the brook with Grandma was so much fun!

The girls

Carly was the most awesome, helpful babysitter!  We are going to keep her!!
