We've been slowly adjusting to being back in Vermont, although the snow flurries this morning didn't make the process any easier! Overall, Evelyn was an excellent traveler and the weather was perfect. The trip was absolutely worth all the stress of packing that we had to do before we left.

On our way down to Florida, Evie took a short nap on each leg of the
flight, and we kept her busy with snacks, books, and toys. We had so
many bags, and as we went through security, they had to test all the
bottles of breastmilk and packages of baby food. It was a little
inconvenient as we tried to gather our stroller and carseat, shoes,
belts, etc., but we made it through, and things went smoothly after
that. The trip home was a little more challenging, because Evie only
napped for a total of 20 minutes all day. She is a girl that needs to
be in a bed to take a good nap. She was very whiny on our last flight
from LaGuardia to BTV, and to top it off, we were sitting next to a
person who smelled like he hadn't used deodorant. Ever. Needless to
say, we were happy to finally make it home! And, if that was the worst
of the trip, I'd say it was a huge success.

While we were in Florida, Evelyn LOVED all aspects of it. She went swimming in several swimming pools, played in the sand, rode on golf carts, spent a lot of time swinging oceanside, and she especially loved to hang out with her aunt, uncle, and cousins from Colorado.

Evelyn slept like a champ (usually 8pm-8am), and she napped pretty well, too! I think all the fresh air and sun made her tired, and it definitely made her hungry. The girl seemed to eat twice her normal amount during the week we were gone! Not to mention that she tried french fries, ice cream, virgin banana daquari, and chicken tenders.

There were many great things about the place where we stayed, but a couple of the things that made it especially nice for us were the pool right at the house, and the fact that we didn't have to drive a car for the whole week we were there (golf carts only!). Matt and I really enjoyed the pool during nap time, because we could still enjoy the Florida sun while Evie was getting her rest.

We are incredibly grateful that we were able to take our first family vacation, and we feel like we've crossed a big hurdle of knowing we're up to the challenge of air travel with a baby!

Absolutely beautiful family photo! I also especially like the ones of the babies in the swings and Matt with his BL and shades underwater. Can I go on vacation with you guys next time??
