20 Years!

Most of this blog is about the kids and family life, but we have to take a moment and think about where it all began...at our wedding 20 years ago!  On Wednesday, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, and we didn't do anything too crazy to celebrate since our trip to Hawaii back in February was the big celebration.  Evie and Noah surprised us with a nice gift and homemade card, we went out to dinner, and Evie also made us a beautifully delicious maple walnut cake for dessert.  It was a great, simple day of being grateful for all the life moments we've shared over these past 20 years and looking forward to many more!

Evie was a working woman last week, taking on a few babysitting gigs in addition to working at an art camp from 9-4 every day, so she was pretty exhausted by the end of the week, but glad to have a little extra money in her wallet!  Since she was gone so much, I don't have many pics of her to share.

Noah spent the week at St. Mike's basketball camp, which he really enjoyed this year!  It was a tiring camp, and he had to dig deep to find the energy for his baseball games a couple evenings after camp.  Despite his exhaustion, Noah rallied to drive in the winning run in one of his summer baseball games, which was an unforgettable moment!  By the time Noah got up to bat in the bottom of the 6th inning, it was getting dark and the score was 17-17.  Noah hit one up the middle of the field between two defenders, and after he crossed first base and the winning run scored, he was swarmed by his teammates all jumping up and down.  It was one of those feel-good moments that I'm sure he will remember for a long time!

Noah has been wanting to earn some extra cash, so he was hard at work vacuuming.  I could get used to having a house cleaner, ha ha!

Surprisingly, we had a fairly quiet weekend with some family time, friend time, pickleball, and lots of good food!  We are appreciating these summer days while they last.  None of us can believe August is here already!

Matt had a gig with a different band this weekend at the Festival of Fools (Milton Busker & Grim Work)

We made it out blueberry picking in between rain showers.  Luckily the bushes were loaded and picking was quick!
