Spring Break Week

Last week was Spring Break for the kids, and we planned for this one to be an at-home vacation week.  After all the traveling we have been doing lately, it was refreshing to have some unscheduled, un-rushed time at home for a few days.  We did some spring cleanouts, and the kids had lots of time to get together with friends.  Noah even had his first-ever sleepover with his best buddy Simon!

At the end of the week, Evie and I headed to Portsmouth, NH for the weekend for two days of Irish Dance competitions.  After Worlds, Evie got new choreography for all 3 of her dances, so she had a very short couple of weeks to get it competition-ready.  Evie tends to pick up steps quickly, but this was a stretch even for her!  We went into the competition with zero expectations, but it was a fun opportunity for a weekend away during break with some other dance friends.  Evie danced very well both days and came away with two 1st Place finishes!  The first day was a 3-way tie, but the second day it was a decisive win.  This is a big milestone, since it's her first 1st place finish in the Open Championship level!  The trophies were hand-carved lighthouses that actually light up, so that was a special prize to win.

The boys stayed home with Frankie and enjoyed some beautiful spring weather while we were gone.  Noah had baseball practice, they did some grilling, and went mountain biking.  It sounded like quite a bachelor's weekend!

Now that break is over, we are right into the swing of Little League season.  Noah's team had their first game last night, and even though it ended in a loss, Noah had some moments to be proud of with his playing.  He caught for 3 innings, had a nice hit to the outfield, and also pitched for one inning.  There is a wide range of experience and abilities on his team, so it will take some time for everyone to get up to speed, but we are excited to see their progress this season.  Nothing beats a warm, sunny evening at the ball field!
