Snow Day!

Last week was a short school week with MLK Day on Monday, and we are repeating the pattern with another short week this week thanks to a SNOW DAY on Monday!  It's been cold, which made for fresh fluffy powder snow, and we probably ended up getting about 14-15 inches.  It was up to Frankie's belly when we went snowshoeing in the afternoon!  On the snow day, the kids played outside a few times, and we went snowshoeing, but it was pretty chilly, so we mostly hunkered in, played games and made some yummy food.

Snow down the jacket!  Brr!

Frankie hates this crazy suit, but it really helps keep her from getting snowballs on her fur!

Noah made homemade pasta chips for a snack.  Yummy!

Cozy time

My first attempt at homemade meatballs. They came out pretty good!

Aside from the excitement of the snow, we have been keeping up with the usual activities.  Driving to/from dance for Evie, basketball games and practice for Noah, and watching a few high school games, as well!  Noah's basketball team got to play a scrimmage during half-time of the high school game on Friday, which was a fun experience.  They all looked small on the big court!

Sunday game against MMU

Noah got some good playing time during this one!

The birds have been visiting the feeder a lot during these cold and snowy January days, and we love watching them!  My favorites are a male and female cardinal pair, but we get lots of chickadees and finches, as well.

Wicked snow squall last week!  It was blue sky 10 minutes later.
