Family Time

The past few weeks have given us lots of family time, visiting with extended family and with friends that are like family, and then spending an awesome family vacation week at Shadow Lake.  We've finally had a chance to catch up on all the things that we didn't have time for during the busy start to the summer!  Somehow we have still felt busy making up for lost time, but it has been nice to have time for BBQs, the pool, King Me gigs, and summer recreation.

A quick visit with our dear SMC friend Lora and fam

We celebrated a great all-star baseball season with an end-of-season BBQ with Noah's team.  The boys were so happy to see each other again!  We have lots of great memories from such a fun season.

We also celebrated our 19th anniversary on July 29th!  It was during a busy week, and we couldn't sneak out for dinner, so we played some pickleball and went to our favorite bakery for a breakfast treat to celebrate.  Evie and Noah surprised us with a super thoughtful picture frame, and Evie also made us a beautiful and delicious blueberry cake.  We felt the love!

As it always happens, as soon as August arrives, we notice that it's getting dark out earlier, the leaves on some trees are starting to turn, and the back-to-school emails begin to arrive.  Sigh!  For now, we'll ignore those signs and keep enjoying these final weeks of summer, while holding on to these beautiful days we had at Shadow Lake.

Lots of cribbage was played!

There's a bald eagle that lives on the far side of the lake.  Amazing to see him!
