Sweet Summertime!

We made it!  Summer is here, and while the rushing around is not done, it's a whole lot less than it was.  Last week was full of all kinds of celebrations to wrap up the end of the year, and then the Friday night crash hit hard!  I usually get sad at the end of the school year when we have to say goodbye to all the amazing teachers, but this year, I think we were too busy to have time to feel it.  Evie, however, was very sad to leave EMS, and shed some tears as she said her goodbyes during the final week of school.  Her team of teachers, and especially her homeroom, was such a special group of people that will be missed!

We both got our hair cut on the same day!  Gotta look good for start of summer!

We made it through Evie's final orchestra concert, 8th grade graduation, the last day of school pictures, and then when Noah walked out of Founders for the last time, the emotions hit me.  Seeing him with his friends on the playground, knowing that he's moving on from elementary school is sad.  I wish they could stay little forever, and I hope they always keep that fun, playful side, even without a playground!

All dressed up for 8th grade graduation!

Evie and Lila - besties since 1st grade!

Evie's Galaxy Team Teachers - the best!

Cue the tears!

Best buddies!

Last day of school kickball tourney

The first weekend of summer gave us some time to finally catch a breath and relax.  Matt had a gig on Friday night, and then we celebrated Father's Day with all the dads on Saturday and Sunday.  We have been so busy in the evenings between All-Stars baseball practices for Noah and Nationals dance practices for Evie that it felt like quite a treat to be together at dinner time for two nights in a row!  Our kids are blessed with an awesome dad and two incredible grandpas that love and support them in all their endeavors.

Just a little flexibility contest before dinner.  Nice job, ladies!

A few bonus pictures to share...there was a photographer who captured some live action shots of Evie at a recent competition.  Since we aren't allowed to take photos when competition is underway, we are excited to have these, and we are so proud of Evie's hard work to get to this level!  The countdown to Nationals is on!
