Thanksgiving week was a fun one spent with family, but it wasn't quite as we expected it to go. Covid was the uninvited guest that showed up to the celebration, taking down several family members before the week was over. Despite that, we all deemed it one of the best Thanksgivings ever. It was the first time that the nuclear Zehnacker family was all together in a very long time...more than 25 years we think! While the weather prevented the Turkey Bowl from happening on Thanksgiving Day, somehow we were all convinced to do a barefoot run (in the snow!) out to the hill and back after dinner. It was completely dark out, with sloppy wet snow on the ground, and cold doesn't begin to describe the ache that set into our feet after about 10 seconds. Luckily it was a quick run and there was a warm fire to thaw out our toes afterward. When I asked Noah about his favorite part of Thanksgiving, the barefoot run was it!

We also celebrated Thanksgiving with Grandma Karen by going to see Wicked and having dinner together!
Aside from the celebrating, there was some time with friends, and then a few days of hunkering at home once Matt and Evie got hit with Covid. Noah and I have managed to avoid it so far! Our two sick ones are feeling pretty rotten with a lot of congestion, but hopefully they'll be on the mend soon.
