That's a Wrap on Summer!

It's official...summer has come to an end, and this is the first week of school for our kids.  This summer flew by especially quickly, and we all felt a little sad to see it come to an end.  Both kids had a good first day of school, even though they said it was "a little boring", but they were excited to see their friends and we are hopeful that it will be a good year for both.  It's an adjustment at home for us parents too - the house feels a little quiet and lonely without the kids around!

Evie got up to see Noah off to school, even though she didn't have to take the early bus!

We filled the last two weeks of summer with lots of fun, knowing that the clock was ticking toward the start of school.  Noah had another week of mountain bike camp (with cousin Elliot!), and Evie had an awesome 3-D art camp.  We went peach picking, did some small cliff jumping at Indian Brook, and enjoyed our final few sleep-ins.

Peach picking at Shelburne Orchard.  It smelled amazing!

Evie made this beautiful cake for her friend's birthday!

Matt joined Noah on the last day of Mountain bike camp at Catamount

Noah rode a ton of miles and tough terrain during MTB camp!

Evie's art camp creations were so cute and interesting!

Summer family fun

One last ice cream of the summer.  Don't worry, there will be plenty of fall ice cream trips too!

A fun nigh out with friends...in matching outfits.  Ha ha, oops!

As soon as their camps finished, we headed back to Shadow Lake for one last hurrah with the family.  Even though the weather wasn't particularly warm or sunny, we enjoyed the peacefulness and quiet of camp.  We also discovered a new park in Glover with a ninja course, bike pump track, and lots of fun outdoor features.  It's a playground that can be enjoyed by kids and adults, and it gave us some great cloudy-day entertainment while we were at camp.  We also did some off-roading with the new Tacoma, played cards, read, puzzled, and fished.  It filled our tanks before the transition back to school!

Evie was not deterred by the cold, rainy weather.  She swam every day!

I was absolutely deterred

Aunt Pea's bedtime story put everyone to sleep!
